South Wales Scorpions will only be able to take a 16-man squad to their final game of the season at Swinton Lions.

Boss Mike Grady is unable to name a full 18-man squad with a host of names unavailable.

A hugely difficult afternoon looks on the cards for the Scorpions, who face fourth-placed Swinton. The Lions head into the game on the back of a 28-16 defeat to Oldham Roughyeds, a result which ended an impressive nine-match winning streak.

Defeat at Oldham ended Swinton's hopes of winning the division and appearing in the Promotion Final, but the three-time Challenge Cup winners are heading for the play-offs.

Paul Emanuelli is a new addition to the treatment room after dislocating his wrist and breaking his forearm last weekend. Jonny Leather, Ian Newbury, Tala Petelo and Nathan Rainer are also out through injury.

Welsh international, and former Scorp, Jordan James is among the Swinton ranks and will be looking to help his side to a big win ahead of the play-off promotion fight.

For South Wales, the curtain falls on our worst season yet - only one win, 1,028 league points conceded to date and an increasingly fractured fanbase. Things can only get better, eh?

Sounds like a lost financial opportunity. Sell the last slot on eBay to someone who wants to be able to claim they played professional rugby before they retire. Get plenty of insurance!!!!
