France hammered ahead of Cardiff Arms Park test

France journey to Cardiff Arms Park on Friday on the back of a hefty 84-4 defeat at the hands of England.

Steve McNamara's side ran over 15 tries in a hugely one-sided contest at Leigh.

The hosts led 32-4 at the break; and Brett Ferres' hat-trick ensured England's dominance continued after the interbal.

8,380 were in attendance in a game which saw England comfortably continue a 24-year winning run against France.

The result will give Wales a life ahead of Friday evening's European Cup clash at the Arms Park. France, however, did beat Ireland 31-14 in their previous fixture and will present a difficult challenge to Wales.

Full Time - England 84-4 France
Attendance - 8,380

I doubt Wales would fair much better, but for me it does show the weakness of the international game for league, just over 8000, can you imagine that happening in union? Wales get almost ten times that amount for an autumn friendly!

In fairness to the England RL side it was hardly a full international. The three tests against the Kiwis will be better supported.

Hopefully we'll get a reasonable turnout at CAP on Friday.

I think it says more that 20 years of SL in France has failed miserably to raise the standard over there and it makes you wonder what Toulouse think they stand to gain from crossing the Manche....
