Tigers 52 Falcons 9

Thinking To Do

Any false hope from the Gloucester game was well and truly buried by a rampant Tigers. Stimpson rubbed salt in the wounds - as one of the old boys we could still do with - as he rattled in the points. Tigers were back to their normal form but Andrew must ask "where do we go from here."

Whenever Tim Stimpson plays against Falcons you feel he has something to prove. He certainly made his point. In fact he made 32 of them.

He was aided and abbetted by a Falcons performance which Rob Andrew described as "awful." He won't get any charges of "bringing the game into disrepute" for that comment. It was sadly oh so true.

The game began with Wilko v Stimmo penalty contest. Tigers were ahead by four kicks to two after 20 minutes and then he got another couple before belting over a drop goal from just inside the Falcons half.

To make matters worse he had a major hand in the first try of the afternoon when he started the move down the wing which eventually saw Rod Kafer go over and a 28-9 lead .

To add to his delight, and our misery, Stimpson then put in a tremendous tackle to stop a rare Epi break. It was such a hit that Epi had to go off to be repalced by Otuvaka for the second half.

The second half was just the same. Arnie managed to get a sin bin and Stimpson was kicking as if his life depended on it. Fd Falcons were all over the shop and Smith and Rowntree had little problem in scoring tries. They were simply miles ahead of our pack.
