Carlisle leave it late to secure BP win

Carlisle kept touch with the leaders in North One West today by defeating Wilmslow 25-12 at Warwick Road.

An enjoyable game played in mild conditions in northern Cumbria saw a cagey first half, before both sides got second-half tries and the hosts having to wait until three minutes from time before securing their try bonus point.

Home full-back Matthew Minett would have been a deserved man of the match after scoring two tries and being a rock-solid defensive presence all afternoon, as well as a constant danger to the visitors from Cheshire in attack.
