Newcastle Falcons v Bedford Blues
Friday 13th March - Kick off 8pm
Falcons welcome Bedford Blues to Kingston Park on Friday the 13th, let's hope this won't be a bad omen. Falcons have had a week's rest from competitive rugby so they should be chopping at the bit to get going again. Once again Falcons have offered members of the armed forces, emergency services and NHS are among those who can enjoy discounted tickets for Newcastle Falcons' next home game against Bedford Blues. Bedford Blues have been looking to strengthen their squad by signing outside-half Will Maisey from league rivals Coventry on a short-term deal until the end of the season. Maisey, 27 years old, goes straight into contention for this weekend’s fixture with table-toppers, Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park. He brings plenty of proven Greene King IPA Championship experience having played for Nottingham before his return to Coventry. He is on the bench for this match.

Consistency of selection seems to be increasing. Davison getting more of a nod so presumably his scrummaging is better. I find it so difficult to tell in the front row. I think the refs struggle too.
Usual high quality back row regardless of the permutations. We have good options there.
Connon Flood has become something of a fixture and looks good. I think it must help Connon to have Flood there but equally I would like to see Williams at 12 with Stevenson at 13. The idea of 2 big strong quick centres in tandem works for me.
Hopefully another performance in the right direction.
Has Tobys performances improved being moved out from the pivotal 10 role now and with a bit more time at 12?
He's the second playmaker at 12 now...maybe its suits him in his aging years...
I think Flood has done well in the 12 shirt of late and must help Connon having the playmaker experience beside him.
I also like the idea of having more of a running threat from both centres.
We shall see tonight and certainly I can’t see it being an ideal breeding ground for a virus outdoors in a cold wind. To be fair it is unlikely to be so busy that we are sat/stood on top of each other.
