We've all got one, a pile of old match programmes gathering dust in the corner of the room, or stashed away in a cupboard. Well Ouseburn has rummaged through her England programme collection to take us on a trip down memory lane...

    ENGLAND PROGRAMME - FLASH BACK
This appeared in the England vs. New Zealand programme 27/11/93 - Main Sponsor was Save & Prosper, but the little ditty that follows was a contribution by KONICA one of the official sponsors at the time.
Song For The Tub - No. 2.
(To the tune of “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean”)
My body lies over the touch line,
My body lies under the scrum,
My body lies over the stretcher,
              Oh isn’t dismemberment fun!
                  (Chorus)
                    Bring back, bring back
Oh bring back my body to me,
                    To me!
                    Bring back, bring back
Oh bring back my body to me.
My femur lies over my shoulder,
My tibia’s been gone for years,
My elbow lies somewhere behind me,
And a Prop Forward bit off my ears.
                            (Chorus)
                                A familar name or two...
The England team that day was:-
                                    W.Carling, J. Callard, T. Underwood, P.R. de Glanville, R. Underwood, C. R. Andrew, K. Bracken, J. Leonard, B. Moore, V.E. Ubogu, N.C Redman, M.O. Johnson, D. Richards (who gained his 30th cap that day), T.A.K Rodber, B. B. Clarke
My goodness don’t those names conjure up some memories!
And guess who played for New Zealand at No. 11(left wing) - none other than our very own Va’aiga L. Tuigamala!
England ran out that day to:-
I VOW TO THEE MY COUNTRY (HOLST)
I vow to thee, my country - all earthly things above
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love,
The love that asks no questions, the love that stands the test.
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

This seems to be very apt in these worried days, does it not?
                                                  Ouseburn over and out.
