Rob Andrew has amazed us once again. Hardly has the champagne stopped fizzing from the rout of Birmingham Solihull [aka P. Bees] than he announces the transfer of England hopeful Hugh Vyvyan to struggling Sarries. Fortunately it wont be until next season so lets hope he get a winners medal first.

Vyvyan is the current Falcons captain but once has picked up the winners trophy at Twickers he'll be off off to join Alex Sanderson and Iain Fullarton as players to join Sarries at the beginning of next season.

Naturally head coach Rod Kafer is pleased with himself: "Hugh is a very important player for Newcastle and well respected throughout the Zurich Premiership so we are very pleased he is joining us. Not only is Hugh an excellent player and leader, he can also play in a number of positions and gives us versatility in the back five. He is also an expert lineout jumper.

"Hugh is joining us because he shares our vision of Saracens being a successful club. He's been the mainstay of the Newcastle side for a number of years and is on the fringe of the international team.

"As we build the squad for next season, we are looking to recruit English-based players who are on the edge of the international scene and Hugh, Alex and Iain all fit within that category. All three have a great deal of experience within the Zurich Premiership and are leaders on the field but are still young enough to push for international honours.

Presumably has something up his sleeve .. er presumably ........
