Grimesy Flies The Flag

Stu Grimes

Stu Grimes was left to fly the flag for Falcons as both England and Scotland had cracking victories on the other side of the pond. Sadly there were no Fledglings in the the England Under 21's either ... should we be worried?

Well only a little. Grimesy's international reputation is growing with every game he plays to the extent that he captained his country to their 65-23 victory over the USA.

And Walder and Vyvyan were on the bench for the 26-18 victory by "Emerging England" over the Argentians, neither got on. That was some game and Woodward reckons that it is one of the highspots of his five year stewardship. The Under 21's were hammered by New Zealand so it might be a blessing in disguise that we weren't represented.

England, in particular, are amassing strength in depth at the moment. We have Wilkinson, Walder, Stephenson, Noon, May and Vyvyan all part of the Club England set up with Grimes, Brotherstone and Mower all figuring for Scotland.
