The months of planning and anticipation are almost behind us. Next weekend the LISC Craic team, in numbers greater than ever, set off for our first ever Heineken Cup game, away to Toulouse. The Craic Guide to Toulouse

Undoubtedly the weekend will take it's own course, plans made now will be blown away in an alcohol induced haze. Certain people will have their own agendas and may not wish to join the pack. The gatherings listed here are open to all, LISC members or not. It goes without saying that attendance is optional.

The travellers appear to be split almost equally between two distinct groups. Those who have booked their accommodation via St. Clare's Travel and are staying at the Ibis Pont Jumeaux and those who booked independently are are staying in the centre of town, many of whom are at the Ibis Central. The former group have the advantage of staying close to the stadium but the disadvantage of being in an unremarkable suburb about a mile or so from the town centre. All the key locations can be found on this MAP which was kindly put together by Bisach.

Most people are arriving on Friday. Our first mass gathering is at the operational HQ for this sortie, Mulligans Irish Pub,39 grande rue St Michel (Tel: 05 61 14 04 21). It is just over the road from the Town prison, on the Southern edge of the town centre.

For those of you who have World Tour Of Toulouse shirts and are there in time, a photo call has been arranged here at 6 p.m. on Friday. Mulligans have been warned about our arrival and have happily taken up the 'You won't drink us out of Guinness' challenge. I still bet we do.

Reading Fatboy and I will have picked up the  match tickets by this stage. Those of you who wish to do so can collect and pay for them here. The other opportunity for you to do so will be on Saturday lunchtime where our pre match 'lunch' rendezvous is the Place du Capitol from 11.30 onwards.  If you are in any way worried about collecting your tickets please ensure you have either RFB or BrianCs mobile numbers with you. If previous tours are anything to go by many of the plans for Saturday night will only be made during that day. Undoubtedly a fair number will again to head to Mulligans. Again, if past World Tours are anything to go by, some will dine in large groups, others will do so as couples or in smaller groups. Some will no doubt pass on the culinary delights of Toulouse and stick to liquid refreshment. Mulligans will be open until the small hours of the morning. 

The bulk of people are leaving on Sunday, many no doubt nursing thumping hangovers. At the time of writing I am not aware of any plans that have been made for that day. If anyone wishes to make some and share them with the rest of the travelling mob please let me know.

Some practical information.

Toulouse Airport to Ibis Pont Jumeaux - Distance 4.5 miles,  taxi fare 12 EUR. There are busses that pass via Pont Jumeaux, I'm afraid I don't have any details.

Toulouse Airport to Town Center - Distance 9.7 km (The same as that between Bangor and Donaghadee), taxi fare 15 EUR. A bus runs from the airport to train station every 20 mins, cost EUR 3.70.

Carcassone Airport to Toulouse. A metered taxi will cost you about 75 EUR, by all accounts you can negotiate with the driver and get there for about half the price. The other viable option is to take the bus into town from where Toulouse is a one hour train journey, cost 11 EUR one way.
