I caught up with Seven Telecom’s director of communications, Michael McGoldrick, at the launch of the new ‘Call 4 The Craic’ calling service. I asked Mike with so many Operators and their low-cost services having come and gone over the last few years, what makes ‘Call 4 The Craic’ different?

Mike informed me; “It’s all about ease of use and payment. With Call 4 The Craic you simply dial the access number, wait for the dial tone and you can call practically anywhere in the world for 10 or 25p per minute, The cost of the calls appears on your normal BT bill, charged per second” “London Irish supporters save money on International Calls and proceeds go to support the after-match entertainment ‘The Craic In the Valley’

At the launch we were given a guided tour of the Network Operation Centre. State of the art software and diagnostic tools are helping the Seven Telecom’s staff. “We measure the percentage of calls that are answered and the voice quality 24 hours a day to guarantee the quality of the Call 4 The Craic service,” continued Mike.

Some of my friends have subscribed to residential post-paid services. Are there any advantages in using ‘Call 4 The Craic’ rather than these? Mike has the answer; “Generally we are cheaper than residential post-paid accounts, and with ‘Call 4 The Craic’ there is no ‘signing up’, you simply dial the access number, wait for the dialling tone and proceed to use the service. The cost of all your calls is included in one bill; this saves London Irish supporters time and money.”
