August 29 2005

With the summer series of a supporters 'If you could' nearing it's end, the series continues with GW&GG! He would like to live in Tresco - I guess every little helps!! Throughout the off season we plan to learn a little bit more about many of our 'Usual Suspects'

If you could............. GW&GG
Relive any 'non-sports related' moment in your life, what would it be and why? Birth of my kids – cliché I know but nothing can beat it.
Enjoy a 'champagne moment' again in your career which one would it be and why?

Hasn’t happened yet! Finishing my thesis in about 2 weeks time (see question 4.). I’ll be drunk for a month.

Enjoy a 'champagne moment' again in sport which one would it be and why?

Personally – dropping a goal to beat the London Hospital 6-5 or kicking a conversion at school to beat Worth Abbey -15-14 (both in injury time). The London were our great rivals and Worth were otherwise unbeaten that season (and were winning 14-0 after 25 mins of the game) and we lost every other match! As a supporter – THE Powergen Cup Final and I would love to have been in Istanbul for the Champions League Final this year – but watching it on TV was awesome.

Fantastic day at Twickenham to see God’s own country be the first team to beat England (the reigning world champions in their own back yard) – oh how we sang!

Have dinner with 4 people from the past or present who would they be? I think dinner is not just about meeting people it’s about having a good time as well. For instance I’d like to meet Maggie Thatcher but I wouldn’t want to have dinner with her! My four would be: Keith Wood, My Grandfather (great fun and I have so many things I would like to say to him), Winston Churchill and Spike Milligan – what a dinner party that would be.
Witness one event from history what would it be?

Dinosaurs – wouldn’t it be great to see them in the flesh? The sinking of the L’Orient (the French Flagship) at The Battle of the Nile – her gunpowder room blew up – the explosion was said to be stunning and was hear miles away. She sank with vast amounts of treasure on board.

Go back in time and give advice to a 13 year old 'Green White & Gary Gold' what would it be? Whatever I told him – he wouldn’t take it! I think it would probably be along the lines of ‘work hard, play hard.’ Oh, and go seek out someone called George W Bush in the states and do everything in your power to stop him becoming a politician.
