England Rugby September 2008 In Review

England Rugby September 2008 in Review!    A good  deal of summery things going on, shame nobody told the person that looks after the weather!   What a wet summer we have had and September has been no different, washing out many events but not Rugby.

We kicked off this month with Jan-Marie inviting Students to join in the St Helier Pear Cider Student 10's - Rugby. The UK's Premier Student Rugby Competition A rare chance to play at a Premiership Stadium Following the successful 2007 event, university and college teams nation-wide will again be competing for a chance to play in the finals in front of up to 10,000 rugby fans at Newcastle Falcons' world famous Kingston Park stadium  Student's Rugby10's St Helier Pear Cider Students

Falcons fan Dave gave us  feedback on this event: Newcastle Intra Mural side Jesmond Mojo defeated the Larrikins in the final at Kingston Park. Popped down to Bullocksteads during the day and had some free pear cider courtesy of the Sponsors St.Helier. V.Nice. The likes of Nottingham and Glasgow Uni took part. Looked like a cracking student event!

And also Falcon Dr.B: Couple of cracking tries scored right in front of the South Stand, causing the Choir to start up a song in tribute.  Decent stuff.

One of the big events this month was the Help for Heroes staged at Twickenham in aid of our brave men and women in the armed forces.  We hope this event will be an annual event or at least a bi-annual event.
