Coventry Rugby side announced to face Cinderford.

The Coventry Rugby side to face Cinderford at home at the Butts Park Arena this Saturday 22nd December, kick off 3 pm has just been announced.
It shows no fewer than 8 changes including 3 positional ones from the starting line-up side that eventually lost so narrowly away last Saturday at Sedgley Park. Will Maisey comes in at no 10 with Cliffie Hodgson switching to fullback in place of Jack Green. There is a new centre partnership as Heath Stevens replaces James Otutaha who goes onto the bench, whilst Callum MacBurnie comes in for Greg Evans who switches to the wing in place of Ben Toft. In the back row Brett Daynes comes in for Matt Tibbatts who switches to No 8, whilst at no 7 Jamie Harrop replaces Liam Munro. On the bench Davy McGregor comes in for Greg Sammons.

oh my god...sublime to the ridiculous hope this comes off...totally against what glackin said the other day.I feel very sorry for maisey coming in, i think he is a very talented player,but has to be given time and encouragement because he can set the backs up with passes to run onto and is far harder to defend against.Maybe with hodge doing the kicking the pressure will be not as much.So more players in and others not played much goes against team gelling and not playing enough at this level and only needs a little tweaking....if this is a little tweak..WOW.

i genuinly hope to be proved wrong and that the style of rugby is improved and the players start to enjoy playing again.This board is a snap shot of opinions of supporters from all walks of life.But when certain people share their thoughts you know things have to change....for everyones sake lets hope the early part of 2013 proves an enjoyable time following COV
How many of the changes were for injury/unavailability? It possibly paints a different picture if that is known. I think Liam Munro is injured for example.

difficult to understan dthe changes-evans has ben our most dangerous attacker and is pu ton wing, stevens has played well on wing, not a great passer of the ball and is pu tin centre. it slikely to be a bog of a pitch so utahuta would suit that. cinderford will be strong up front and with the soggy pitch we field smallish but mobileback row!lets hope hodgson knows his positioning at full back!

It may be tinkering but do you think this team is weaker than those played in other games? I made a comment recently about the side changing but never looking weaker and I stand by that and applaud the experiment of putting Cliffie at 15. He will see far more opportunities than he does at 10 (and they are numerous even at 10). Watching him over the past couple of home games he has dropped deeper to be part of the back 3 and I see this as a positive move. Well done PM and best of luck to the team for Saturday. I think my prediction of 40-15 is looking good.

The side looks fine to me, i really hope the players do read this site, and i hope they prove a few doubters wrong.
We are a great bunch of players and only need to gel as a team, i hope that the lads get it right as a team tomorrow and give us a home win for xmas!
I can't see anything wrong with what P.M has done with bringing this team together, i think on paper we have the makings of a good side for this division, all we need now is to gel and play as a good team on the pitch.

I think we just needed to move clifie to 15 for his kicking, and keep the rest the same. Will coming in at 10 is good, however the challenge will be that the back line havent played together at all, which then means from 9-15 we are back to square one in terms of player familiarity on the pitch. It may as well be the first game of the season from that point of view. It would have beeb better if Will had of been given some 1st team game time as a replacement instead of being dropped straight into thye line up. However i do appreciate there may have been issues with the loan agreement with Nuneaton.
Either way, good look to the lads, lets keep the ball in hand, pass out of the tackle, and try to keep it alive instead of the bash em mentality. Lets stretch the opposition and look like we are playing at home.

I think all the changes worked today. Might not work next time but credit where credit is due. I am all for continuity but when you are on a losing run, you have to break that continuity. So are those that criticised the changes going to admit they were wrong and give due credit - somehow I think it will be a long wait!
