A look ahead at Saturday's match between the two top teams in the league. Atleast one team will go away with without a 100% record!  

Spy in the camp - Doncaster

Doncaster the only team in the leagues that have managed two wins with two bonus points.  Only three teams in the league have have won both their matches being Doncaster, Albion and Rotherham Titans so this weeks top of the table clash. It is far too early to make any predictions for the end of season positions but Albion are now the only team not to have conceded a single try since the beginning of the season, and that is true for the Warrior's side too!

Doncaster, who finished 9th in the league last season, have appointed a new Director of Rugby over the summer, Clive Griffiths while Jason Forster joined as Forwards' Coach from the same time.

Last weeks match saw them take Sedgley Park by seven tries to nil. Match Report. At half time the Knights went in ahead by three unconverted tries to two penalties (6-15). Once they had reached a 30 point lead Doncaster used all of their replacements as quickly as possible before taking advantage of two home defenders being sin binned to finish off with two more tries.

Their first match of the season was against Newbury at home which they won 27 - 11. Match Report. Newbury did manage to put a try over Doncaster in the first half when they had the elements, a strong wind behind them.

In Coach's Column 'Griff' is pleased with his team's start to the season and their team spirit. He enjoyed the assertive refereeing at the Park match and is looking forward to more.  Doncaster know that they will have a harder job at Brickfields and Albion will have to prove them right by playing hard for the full 80 minutes.

 

Some players to Watch

Jason Forster who only joined the Knights this summer plays at number 7 and has already scored 4 league tries. At 35 he has represented Wales and also played for Wales in the 7s game. He came from Gwent Dragons.

Mark Woodrow who also joined over the summer months. He was playing for Nottingham but had a few appearances for the club last season, playing in 8 matches he scored two tries and kicked 36 points. With pervious clubs of Newbury, Pertemp and for a short while Bristol Mark will be celebrating his 26th Birthday on Saturday.  Playing at Fly half he has a try and 16 kicking points under his belt in the league this season.

Glen Wilson was signed from Otley over the summer. At 30 he plays at number 8 and has played for Yorkshire and England Counties. Last season he scored 5 tries for Otley and has already run in one for Doncaster against Newbury
