Albion Directors lend their support to website.

A positive way forward agreed today at a meeting with Albion Directors on support to the unofficial website.

Albion Directors lend their support to unofficial site.

At a Meeting with Bob Evans, Graham Dawe and Wayne Harris the site was congratulated on it's content with one or two minor concerns which are understood and will be monitored.

Although the club have no power to stop or control the site, if we pull in totally different directions then they could obstruct free access to the information that would make this site better and more informative.  If we pull in similar directions we will all benefit.

Whilst the directors probably have the club itself at the top of their priorities I put the fans, and providing information, at the top of mine followed, closely by the club and players.  At the end of the day there would be no point in being a supporter without a club to support.  I hope that we can all work together for the benefit of all.

The club have agreed to let us publish photographs of games taken at the ground. They have agreed to add me to the press release process and provide me with information in other ways that will be of benefit to our site. They have also provided me with a number of contacts that will help in the flow of information.

One concern that all of us have is to do with the message board. Posts on these boards are monitored by both myself and the site owner sportnetwork and we need to make sure that they do not become offensive or negative.  I know that some of what is said on these boards is no different from what may be said in the bar after a match and anyone has the ability to reply but would we say some of these things if they were going to be broadcast over the PA at half time?  Please be positive about the team, they need to be built up rather than individuals slagged off and called names.  Due to the nature of these message boards they can be added to and read by anyone, including the players concerned.  I will have no hesitation in removing posts if I think that they are abusive, unfair or offensive.

Please please please make this a friendly site that fans and players alike will want to look at.

Viewing figures are steadily improving with over 950 individuals viewing the site since it started at the beginning of the month and regularly 50 people visiting the site day after day.  I am very pleased with the figures so far and will be even happier when they increase further.
