RFU have agreed to incraese in league size at the end of this season so Sedgle park will be playing in NL1 next year.  

At an RFU Council meet on Friday 17th March a resolution was overwhelmingly approved to the effect that there would be no relegation form National League One at the end of this season.  The league will now increase from 14 to 16 teams from 2nd September 2006 which will save Doncaster, Pertemp Bees and Sedgley Park from League Two next season.

Graham Dawe voiced his disapproval of any changes to the rules part way through the season in the Evening Herald on Friday.  He believes that there should be movement between the divisions for the benefit of the game and that you should not change the rules half way through the season. 

The two teams that will be promoted from League Division Two will come from the current top three being Moseley (91 points), Waterloo(86 points) and Esher (80points) with five matches still to play. Current forth place Launceston on 58 points are just too far off the running to make the jump this season.

Although this resolution has been approved by the RFUC there still may be further changes to the leagues in the future as a National Leagues Task Group are looking at all leagues and consulting down to level 10 rugby,  I think that is Devon 2 league level. the NLTF is due to report back to RFU Council on 28th April which may recommend more leagues change in size.  We will just have to wait and see.
