The Friendly Ride

I am sure that a lot of us remember Andy Friend joining Quins as Head Coach back in  2005 and the significant contribution  he made to the development of the team before returning to Australia in 2008.

Last year his wife Kerri suffered a brain injury as a result of an accident whilst mountain biking. As part of her recovery plan,  and to raise money for and awareness of  Acquired Brain Injury, she is providing back up support  to Andy on a sponsored mountain bike ride of 5000km from the North of Australia to Canberra. He is currently 2 1/2 months into the ride and anticipates finishing in  early December. He has raised to date A$130,000, this  to be split between two related charities.

Have received the following message from Andy Friend thanking us for our support.

"It's great to finally be home. We had an incredible journey and will need a week or so to recover. We've raised over $150,000 already and still counting. And more importantly, the improvement in Kerri has been phenomenal.

Thank you and everyone at Quins for all your support. Read today that it's now 14 from 14. May the dream run continue!!"
