Coventry RFC & Henley College Coventry visited Hartpury College for the first time and recorded an outstanding victory in wet conditions. C&H started with intent camping in the home sides half with fly half Tyler Price kicking a penalty for an infringement at the ruck.

Hartpury responded with a score in the corner after a good play out wide. Price restored the lead for C&H with another penalty for an off side to take to score to 5-6.

An outstanding defence display kept Hartpury at bay with some great work by winger Troi Coleman and back row forwards Callum Lines, Chris Thompson & Josh McNulty.

C&H started to take control at the break down and a great break by centre Luke Barber created another scoring opportunity only for the final pass to go astray yards short of the try line.

After continued pressure at the set piece, second row Connor Burnet caused the home side problems at the lineout stealing balls and causing opposition errors. Another attacking play resulted in prop forward Harry Smith surging over for a try excellently converted by Price taking the score to 5 - 12 at half time.

From the restart of the second half winger Ryan Coates started and finished a fine passage of play after bursting through a hole in midfield, and after a series of interchange passes was put over in the corner by full back Keir Williams for a great team try.

Hartpury again responded with a try taking the score to 10 - 18. This was followed by more intense pressure from the home side however more great defensive work cancelled numerous attacks with hooker Adam Carey prominent with some thumping tackles.

Superbly led by captain McNulty at number 8 C&H played excellent rugby in wet conditions with tactical field position to ensure their unbeaten record stayed intact.
