Spy in the Camp - Pertemp Bees

Pertemp Bees have travelled well this season as they have not lost away from home. Then again the two matches they won away from home were Moseley and Sedgley Park and both of those were close results. They have won three matches in total, lost two and drawn one.  They have scored more points and tries than Albion but their try conversion rate is lower, but at the end of the day it's points on the league table that matter.

Suffering from injuries Pertemp will be without two of their props Terry Sigley (broken arm) and Casey Dunning (ankle ligaments).

It is unclear if they will be allowed to continue to use full-back Jon Goodridge who has been on loan from Gloucester as he was recalled last Saturday and scored two tries for them.

The Bees will be hoping that they can rely on captain Mark Cornwall, known as "Pastie", who had to miss the game against Titans last week due to injury.

Second placed Plymouth Albion take on seventh placed Pertemps bees looking to return to winning ways after losing top spot in the table last week.

 

Albion after five straight wins were beaten at Exeter Chiefs 18-14 after leading 14-3 at the break.

At Brickfields this season they are unbeaten winning all three matches. They have the meanest defence in the division conceding just 74 points in their six matches 14 fewer than anyone else.   

 

The Bees lost at home for the second time this season last Saturday when they went down 31-6 to the Earth Titans who went to the top of the table on the back of that result with Plymouth Albion losing.

On the road though they have a much better record where they are unbeaten with a draw at Bedford Blues followed by wins at Sedgley Park and Moseley.

 

Albion were 34-21 winners in this fixture at Brickfields last season. In the return at Sharman Cross the Bees were 24-13 winners.

 

Prediction: Albion home win at Brickfields by 10 points.

This weekend is SPIRE w/e when Rugby clubs large and small are asked to support the rugby based charity. SPIRE - Support Paraplegics In Rugby Enterprise want clubs across the country and schools throughout the land to raise money for the RFU Charitable Trust which has helped many disabled players and continues to support 107 disabled ex-players currently on the RFU Register. A  collection will be made at Brickfields of Saturday so please make sure you have plenty of change ready for collection.
