This photo of a floodlit Brickfields was taken from Fore Street, something quite new to the area and for the club, as it opens up a whole new opportunity for the club to promote televised games and also the prospect of other functions being staged, when previously not possible. One of them of course being the Friday night games, not to every ones satisfaction I know but the scope for the club has improved tremendously in this respect.

Some of you may have noticed that this episode has jumped back in time by a year from the previous one, something that narranarra was kind enough to put point out to me, for which I am gratefull, it was easier earlier on as the photo's had the date on them, but not so much now, so if I get it wrong please let me know. I have also included the photo of the finished logo on the North terrace again at the end of this episode, as requested by balion, in recognition of the tremendous amount of work that Frank Stormont put into his amazing work load in many different ways, that he was happy to do to contribute to the benifit of his Albion. This photo is an illustration of the detail he applied to everything, in that when viewed fom pitch level, the letters take on a totally different shape to the norm to whatthey do when painting them on the seats, and this layout Frank produced on his p.c. giving us the print outs to follow when painting and with a few tweaks here and there we have what you now see.

Before I show the installation of the present floodlights, you may well remember the temporary lights we used for the official opening of the Eric John's stand the previous year ( the date is on the photo this time)

The holes are dug out, this one is at the top gate as you can see, what a good job it wasn't being dug now, the fire brigade would have been busy otherwise, or maybe we could have drained the pitch into it and played on Saturday !

The pre cast concrete bases were stacked near the main entrance area here.

One of the things that strikes me most when looking back on earlier photo's is as in the case of Brickfields, the tremendous changes that have taken place in the ten years we have been here, where as in real time we come to the ground, have a drink with friends, watch the game and go home again and take for granted that what we see now has aways been here but looking at these again reminds you of the amount of work and effort that so many people have put into place in that time, something we don't aways think of I guess.

With the bases in place, the rest of the jigsaw is in place ready for assembly. Notice the Real Ale bar has changed colour now.

The last tower is being assembled prior to being erected.

Once again notice the totally different appearance at the top end of the ground to what you will see now if you go up into the Eric John's for the view. No ticket office, no main gates, I can't remember when they went up, and no huts or containers, not always the best to look at I know but very necessary for the running of the club untill someone builds us a wrap around stadium ?

Getting near the end now with the power being connected, with the trees in view I guess this must be the light near the main entrance.

One more photo from this batch, this is the electricity sub station that was installed at this time in the North East corner of the ground, not something that you would walk past when coming to Brickfields but when you do walk around the corner of the pitch towards the "Bath " terracing, look to the gate in that corner and there it is, giving us the power to see these night matches with the help of the floodlights.

And lastly, the finished logo on the North terrace as previously mentioned.
