Rotherham match report

We arrived into a sunny Rotherham on Friday, early as we thought we would take up the offer of going to the Titans ‘Harry's bar’ and what a wonderful evening chatting about rugby. The next day the rain came in and it was cold wet & wild.

The lads warmed up...

And even practiced the scrum...

That’s where outside pictures stop – the rain forced my hands back in pocket. Titans were dominant throughout the game, although Albion were close at half time, the Titans saw gaps in defence and took full advantage of them. We got 10 points, I personally think that was impressive against such a strong Titans team. It was as if the Titans had legs covered in grease, as they seemed to slip out of one tackle after the next. Albion seemed to be on the verge of scoring a try one minute, to defending their own line the next

After the match it was clear to see that all the Albion Players had bruises, bumps and possibly more serious injuries. It was a hard game, and Albion played until the final whistle.

After the match Sam Matavesi was presented with ‘best away player’ and was presented his prize by the Mayor of Rotherham. The ‘best home player’ was chosen by Vince Jones, and I had the honour to present the prize to Tom Cruse

We also saw Alfie To’oala. He was looking well and the picture of the night was of him helping out to sweep up the floor after the match and he is back in training.

With Rotherham on the TV next week, it may be a chance to see them play over a post match pint with the game at 5.
