A Match that Devon should have won with them having the run of the ball for the first half but allowing Lancashire to come back in a scrappy third quarter to take the lead in the 56th minute and they never looked back.  

Ed Lewsey was unable to make the team after pulling up with a knee injury during the final training session yesterday. Ed Barnes played a stunner in the first half creating scoring opportunities working well with Chief's full back Gary Kingdom and several times missing out Albion team mate Keni Fisilau to create the advantage for Devon. The Sky Sports team were talking him up at half time and suggesting that he was more than ready for premiership rugby. Ed didn't get so much of the ball in the second half and unfortunately when asked to put the ball into touch from the 10 metre line two minutes from time and Devon only 6 points behind he made one of his few mistakes of the match and the ball went dead and with it any real chance of Devon raising the cup for the third successive year.

Chris Lowrie's usual smile had disappeared from his face as Lancashire took the lead as his third trip to Twickenham with Devon for the first time did not result in a winners medal.

Graham Dawes 15th appearance in a final at the home of rugby in twenty years saw him play the last twenty minutes but did not raise the team enough to come away with a win.
