It's a shame they couldn't have given us a 'derby' for the new year game

That start to the new season could not have been more difficult.

First half of the year we have the top 6 finishers from last season at home and the bottom 6 away - points will be hard to find early on.

Sale at 'home' as the last game of the season - that reminds me of something.......

Looking at that we're going to have to make a really good start to the year. Alot of hard away games stacked towards the end of the season.
I think if we want to make the playoffs we'll need at least 37 points at the halfway stage (After we've beaten wasps for the second time).

Does anyone know when they will be released?

They wait until the footy fixtures are agreed and announced, due to teams that groundshare, which is tomorrow. So I would think sometime in the next week

Sometime during July. I think it was mentioned in one of the pre-season friendly announcements on the offy site, although from memory the exact date in July wasn't given.

Footy fixtures are out today so the rugby ones shouldn't be too far behind.

Next Wednesday, 24th June, according the Quinsezine I just got.

Official GP line is noon today - providing (at minimum):
- opposition;
- home or away;
- weekend (not necessarily exact day or time)

It appears that the GP website needs a bit of an update as apparently Paul Volley is still our captain.

Harlequins will kick off the 2009/10 season against close rivals, Wasps, on Saturday 5th September at Twickenham in the London Double Header.
This will be followed by two home fixtures, against Leicester Tigers on the weekend of the 12th September, and Saracens on the weekend of the 19th September.

The Big Game 2, on Sunday 27th December, will see Quins line-up against Wasps once again at Twickenham Stadium. Details on how to purchase tickets will be published shortly.

The regular season ends on the 8th May, with a home fixture against Sale Sharks.

I wonder if they will go for the 82,000 sell out provided National Rail aren't planning on digging up half of South West London that weekend. Ho hum

I wonder if we will be playing Sarries at Wembley, looking on line I found this.

The Daily Mail reports that the Guinness Premiership club are close to finalising a deal to switch two matches to the home of English football - one in November and a second in April.

If you look at their fixtures in Nov & April

13/14/15 November – Anglo Welsh Round 2
20/21/22 November – Saracens v Wasps
27/28/29 November – Worcester Warriors v Saracens
4/5/6 December – Saracens v Sale Sharks

2/3/4 April – Gloucester v Saracens

A birthday treat for me yet again!

I think there was a typographial error that should read

"The season ends on the 8th May, with the regular home fixture against Sale Sharks"

Wonderful fixture list ...

(1) Don't have to go to Adams Park this season !

(2) Got the "home" fixture back against Leeds at Headingley !!

(3) New Year fixture is another "home" game in Stockport !!!

(4) The 3rd "home" game at Kingston Park is in September so it's possible that the A1 might be free of snow at that time of year although no doubt there will be a Force 9 gale blowing !!!!

So when do these 'fixtures' actually get refined to the level of minor detail such as actual dates and times? You can't plan on writing off three days every weekend - just in case!

Looking at that fixture list I can already see problems with attending the first 2 home matches. A bit of ducking and diving will be required. Should be 2 good matches against the pests at Twickenham and a real bonus missing out on a trip to that industrial park in High Wycombe.

Does anyone know what is planned for the Anglo Welsh Cup this season?

Looking at the league and Heineken Cup dates I think these are the only weekends we don't have a potential fixture...

14th November
30th January
6th February
13th March
20th March

For info... they're all international weekends with the exception of 30th Jan.

Here's another Cornish Pirate looking forward to our fixture on Sat 29 Aug. Had such a great time during our last meeting at the 'Stoop'.

Me and 'Marshy' from the Admiral Benbow in Penzance, were in the Cabbage Patch drinking champagne and celebrating before the kick-off! A bit premature as things turned out as you guys just managed win!(Sm)
