Three tries in less than ten minutes blew Irish away as Quins just about secured a play-off place with a tremendous 41-14 derby win.
Quins are now comfortable in third place - ten points ahead of fifth place Saints with four games left on the fixture list.
Whatismore the form is top notch. Irish went ahead on their own pitch courtesy of Paddy Jackson. Jack Walker replied from a driving maul and Irish thought they had retaken the lead only for the TV official to spot that Ollie Hassell-Collins hadn't grounded the ball.
That spurred a positive reaction from the visitors in the shape of those three quick tries which effectively won the game. Marcus Smith was the architect sending in Cadan Murley on one corner and Huw Jones in the other.
The forwards got the third just before the break with Walker scoring his second from another line-out.
Irish threatened at the start of the second half only for Danny Care to finish off a slick move.
The icing on the cake from Andrew Esterhuizen who powered his way to the line (right) to complete Quins' scoring.
