Bears Upset Odds

Quins are used to dramatic finales so can hardly complain when the odd one goes against them. Bristol Bears arrived at The Stoop in bottom place but somehow toughed it out to take the game 15-12.

The drama came as Quins opted not to slot penalties to level the score and looked to be rewarded when Oscar Beard broke from a line-out.

He sent Andre  Esterhuizen bullocking to the line and it looked like the soaking wet pitch would help him slide to the line after JP McGinty's tap tackle.

However, Tom Whiteley desperately dived in and he was able to dislodge the ball from a disbelieving Estherhuizen.

You could argue that Quins should have taken the three points when they were on offer but Tabai Matson was having none of it. He told the media: "We absolutely back our players and our captain to be really positive. In hindsight it's take the three, take the draw. But one of the things I love about joining this club is the positive intent. So I tip my hat to the decision. Clearly it cost us, but I tip my hat."
