It’s the news that every Harlequins fan wanted to hear – Martin Bayfield (ex-England and Lions lock) has been spotted in a Quins shirt. It's a few years after most of the fans wanted to see him appear in the famous quarters but here is the photo that supporters have been waiting for.

Ok, so he's not a new Quins signing, and to be fair, this reporter didn't have the nerve to ask if he'd shave his legs so that we could put him in the lineouts for the Ladies team! However, Martin was only too happy to be seen in a Quins shirt, even if it was for charity. The Harlequin Ladies will also be joined by many Quins and London Irish fans as they abseil seventy five feet down the side of Twickenham Stadium this Sunday for charity.
Cancer Research UK have organised the event to raise much needed funds for research into the causes of Cancer. The Ladies have secured an early abseil slot so that they can get to their league game in Avon, which will take place after their Youth side have played Avon U16s in a warm-up game. Quins take on London Irish at the Madjeski stadium that day and a plethora of fans from both sides have signed up to support CRUK beforehand. Even Quins Team Manager, Mike Scott will be taking part before he leaves for the stadium to give the boys their final pep-talk before they look to win a valuable 5 points.
The team are hoping that they will be the largest group entering, and with 87 already registered, that's looking likely. There are still places available for the Abseil, so if you would like to take part in this fantastic challenge, email worldrecordabseil@cancer.org.uk or call the hotline on 0870 402 98 98.
A final note of thanks must go to T.J.Pierce Electrical for supplying a shirt large enough for a 6 foot 10 second row - none of the Ladies' shirts would have fitted him!!
