In response to Harley Quin's article about how the travelling Quins faithful should cheer on St Ives on Saturday CornyQuin stands up for his home town rugby club of Truro RFC. So - to start, what sort of Harlequin would support other than their host for the weekend, what? eh? What?

Surely, as the aristocrats we are, we should support the county town's team? Truro is a city of barristers, Lords and Ladies, public schools, a Cathedral and a rugby team untouched by professionalism.

Truro have a cad and bounder in their midst - in the form of Cornish Pirates who have chosen to relocate to Truro to further their dirty professional desires. Truro maintain a dignified and amateur stance in this presence.

Whereas St Ives ....................... are nicknamed after a tasteless bland fish (The Hakes), supported by a load of b&b landladies, faux-artistes and grubby fisherfolk :-)

What's more, do we really want to line up behind a Kevin Keegan look-a-likey emmet (Cornish for out of towner - that's what you are HQ, you know you are :-) ) fan pushing St Ives down our throats?!

No!

St Ives represent the rugby heartland of Penwith in Cornwall. From whence came Pirates - our foe for the weekend. Don't be fooled by this so-called rivalry between St Ives and Pirates! No! They are both anti-Truro and all that it represents - class, money, style etc. In fact - all things that make Quins so unpopular in Wycombe, Bristol, Leeds etc.

Truro ARE the Cornish Quins. You know where your natural loyalties should lie.

Shout for Truro. Give your hosts the backing they deserve. Just as you would be courteous to any host for a country weekend away :-)
