Wasps team to play Leicester Tigers at the Ricoh Arena on Sa

Director of Rugby Dai Young has named his side to take on Leicester Tigers in round 10 of the Aviva Premiership at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow, kick off 4.30pm.

Jake Cooper-Woolley makes his 100th appearance for the club when he lines up alongside captain Ashley Johnson and Simon McIntyre in the front row, while Dan Robson appears in the Premiership for a 50th time for Wasps.

Wasps are boosted by the return of England international Elliot Daly who starts on the left wing, where he excelled for his country during the Autumn Internationals. He completes Wasps’ back three with Willie Le Roux and Christian Wade. Danny Cipriani and Jimmy Gopperth renew their 10/12 partnership, with Juan De Jongh again starting in the 13 shirt.

In the pack, Thomas Young returns at openside having recovered from the calf strain that forced him to withdraw from last Sunday’s game. He lines up alongside James Haskell and Nizaam Carr, who pack down behind James Gaskell and Kearnan Myall in the second row. Joe Launchbury hasn’t quite recovered from the knock he picked up during England’s match against Samoa, while Will Rowlands is sidelined by a knee injury. Marcus Garratt comes into the match day squad to provide second row cover.

Ahead of the mouthwatering clash, Dai Young said: “Wasps and Leicester Tigers games always have a great feel to them as there’s been a huge rivalry between the two sides down the years that’s only intensified since we’ve been living next door to each other.

“It’s a massive game for both clubs in terms of the table and it’s a big occasion for the area and both sets of supporters, so I’m sure everyone will be looking forward to the contest on Saturday.

“It’s guaranteed to be a physical encounter and, as always, the set piece will be a huge battle. We will need to match Tigers’ physicality there and at the contact area. While it was good to come away with the win last Sunday, we know we need to lift our level of performance significantly on Saturday.

“These are the types of games players love to play in and everyone is looking forward to such a big contest in front of what’s set to be our biggest crowd of the season so far.”

Jeeeezzz we get a couple back and lose a couple more. Guy Thompson get hurt every time he players - poor s*d. Whats up with Rowlands ?

Still a good looking side - COYW

Good side and very strong bench. Dai answers the Daly debate! Tough on Josh but happy to trust Dai. We need a big game from Myall as second row looks a bit light weight.

Great to see Daly on the wing especially as I was called Barmy, Nuts and ridiculous for having the temerity for even suggesting it. Great back line and halves. Forwards under strength but will do a good job.

and that's why bringing in the likes of Shields won't hurt the progression of either of the Willis boys.

At least Sam Jones has joined the unavailable list. We need him back.
Good team and bench considering who are missing

Quite a few of the injured list will be back in the next week or two. Our lineout will be good with Gaskell and Myall and both players are good in the loose. Front row will be fascinating battle, hope the ref is strong because that is a juicy battle which we can actually win.
Our backs look very good indeed, so if we get good ball or Tigers kick badly then they will be chasing tails.

I must admit I didn't expect to see Daly on the wing. I think our backs are better and the tight 5 is in tigers favour. So disappointing Launchbury not playing.

If we match them psychically I can see us just winning. If will let them bully us I think we will find it hard to beat them.

Gaskell and Myall need a solid game tomorrow.

Good spot that - jones 'promoted' to the weekly absentee list where he has been ignored for most of the season. I hope that means something

Probably means they're sick of people reading something into the fact that he wasn't listed and of the resulting awkward questions. I am reading nothing into anything until I see his name on that Friday lunchtime article with a number next to it!

to play:

15 Telusa Veainu
14 Adam Thompstone
13 Mathew Tait
12 Gareth Owen
11 Jonah Holmes
10 George Ford
9 Ben Youngs
1 Ellis Genge
2 Tom Youngs (c)
3 Dan Cole
4 Mike Fitzgerald
5 Graham Kitchener
6 Valentino Mapapalangi
7 Will Evans
8 Sione Kalamafoni

16 Harry Thacker
17 Kyle Traynor
18 Logovi’i Mulipola
19 Harry Wells
20 Mike Williams
21 Ben White
22 Joe Ford
23 Matt Smith

So some inexperience in their backs, and if front 5 marginally favours them, I think back row favours us. Half back battle will be fascinating, the current England pair against an alternative pair.

I think the Tigers can pinch this, we like being underdogs.

Possiblty the best backs in Prem this season. Wow. What a teak. Attack
