Both Wasps and Worcester have had their relegation appeals rejected by the RFU. The clubs had argued that becoming insolvent was as a result of Covid and not of any mismanagement.
However, the RFU's club financial viability group rejected both applications, which has also been confirmed by the RFU Board.
There is still a right of appeal to an independent panel but that is threatened by thef act that the clubs have until December 12th to agree a sale so that other Premiership clubs have sufficient time to plan for the next season.
If those sales go ahead in time then both clubs can play in the Championship next season - the only realistic scenario which remains, it seems..
