Bourgoin XV: Benjamin Boyet Starts

Bourgoin are coming to Galway with their sights firmly set on a home semi final it seems. Their team selection confirmed today that contrary to French press reports this morning.

They are throwing their hat at this game in the hope that it will give them the spark they need to get some vital results in the French Championship over the next couple of weeks.

Their side shows six changes from that which lost away to Brive last weekend in the top 14.

The back three is first choice, so is the half back pairing with Samoan John Seino (who has 3 tries this season) and the highly rated French international Benjamin Boyet looking to steer the ship to victory.

Bourgoin coaches Eric Catinot and Xavier Péméja indicated this week that their best hope of finishing the season well and avoiding relegation from the Top 14 was by securing a win away in Ireland similar to what they achieved in Leeds in this season’s pool stages and at London Irish in last year’s quarter final.

Momentum is everything as Connacht discovered last week and Bourgoin want it ahead of the thier huge home game with Toulouse in Lyon next weekend. It seems clear that Connacht will face their toughest challenge yet from a French side traveling to Galway and the form of recent weeks will need to be replicated.

Bourgoin have named a strong team for the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final against Connacht.

The French side, runners-up last year to Northampton, are making their first visit to Galway but they have played against Munster, Leinster and Ulster in the Heineken Cup.
