The Cardiff Blues have announced their final signing in the shape of Auzzie back rower, Ben White.

The transfer of Ben White to the Cardiff Blues was confirmed today following weeks of speculation from fans. The 22-year old arrived at the Arms Park today having completed a move from Super 14 outfit, The Brumbies.

His signing comes as an especially big boost given the recent long-term injury of Robin Sowden-Taylor, who has set his sights on an April return.

White has the ability to play 6, 7 and 8, and will be a big player for the next few seasons. At 6ft 4" he is a dominating character, with a very athletic figure, much like fellow new arrival and big success, Scott Morgan.

He is an especially good signing as he counts as a British player, as he holds a UK passport. That means he doesn't take up a foreign player space, and is still techniqually available to play for Wales, should he reach regency in his time here.

On the move he said today;

"It is a great chance to expand my rugby experience and be in a strong squad on the other side of the world. I spoke to Blues academy manager Justin Burnell who was in Australia in the summer and it developed from that."

Dai Young added;

"Ben is obviously a versatile back-row player," said Blues coach Dai Young. At 6ft 4ins he's in the mould of Scott Morgan, he's rangy, very aggressive and can cover the whole back row so he's a great addition to our squad."

White is eligeable for the Heineken Cup and the Anglo-Welsh tourement, though is not expected to feature come Saturday against Wasps.
