Jamie Robinson has joined brother Nicky in re-signing with the Cardiff Blues, theArmsPark can reveal.

Nicky's re-signing was confirmed a fortnight ago on this site, but now the official site, CardiffBlues.com, has confirmed that Wales' try scoring hero Jamie Robinson, has put pen to paper on a new deal, thought to be for 2 years.

 

It comes as a great relief to fans, who have seen Mike Phillips depart in recent weeks to the high spending Ospreys.

 

Both Jamie and Nicky had been in talks with English sides about proposed moves, but have decided to stay in their place of birth, and continue their magnificent careers with Cardiff RFC and the Cardiff Blues.

 

Jamie is in fact the regions highest all try scorer (22), while Nicky is the all time top points scorer with 476, including 15 tries, and being 2nd top of the appearances charts (78), to John Yapp (80).

 

On the news, Dai Young said;

 

"I'm delighted that both are to continue their impressive careers here. Jamie and Nicky are extremely popular with our fans, not just because of their undoubted abilities, but because they are true Blues. They have always given everything for the team and it is fitting that during the contract Jamie will be able to celebrate his 10th year at the Arms Park."

 

Nick Macleod and Gareth Williams are thought to be the two remaining players yet to agree new deals with the capital.

 

Meanwhile, Ospreys scum half Justin Marshall looks set to make way following the arrival of Mike Phillips, Stade Francias his likely destination. Fellow Osprey Brent Cockbain also looks like heading for the revolving Liberty Stadium doors, heading for The Dragons with Ian Gough going the other way.
