A loss on the road damages more than just the current position in the Magner’s League, but also ends up adding 2 more players to the injury list, Rhys Williams and Rob Sidoli being the latest casualties on an ever-growing list.

The two teams were equal in terms of tries scored, one a piece for Rhys Williams and Dan Parks who got all the Scots points.

Cardiff were missing 6 first teams players who were all called up for Wales duty, but also have an extensive injury list that is currently Marc Strchbina, Nick Robinson, Nick Macleod, Ritchie Ress, James Goode, Andy Powell and Chris Czekaj. Rhys Williams and Sidoli both look likely to join them for quite some time.

With Bath coming up next week, and then back-to-back matches again Heineken Cup rivals, Stade Francias, it's getting tougher and tougher for Dai Young. He told the BBC;

"To lose another two players is hugely disappointing, I think they'll be long absences. We had 11 first-team players out, but we're trying to build a squad here."

As for Friday nights loss, a seventh minute try from outside half Parks came as a result of an interception and 60m run-in. Williams replied with a neat well worked try, but the boot of Parks proved too much as he slotted 3 penalties and a drop goal.

The Blues currently remain top of the Magner's League.
