Dai Young has announced that the Cardiff Blues have made former Wales caretaker coach, Scott Johnson, their number 1 target to replace Rob Howley. With the Blues defence guru taking a job with the national side, Young is keen to get the experienced Aussie on board.
Scott Johnson is to decide in the next few weeks what his next move is, but it's likely the man who was number 2 to both Mike Ruddock and Steven Hanson at wales will return to the province.
Dai Young said,
"It's important we replace Rob with quality. He's got the Australia job to bottom out whether he is going to continue in his post or not. I think we will be just one of the two or three regions, clubs and provinces that would be interested in Scott, but there's a long way to go."
The Blues have been linked with Johnson since before the rugby world cup.
