The Celtic League will go ahead as planned before the Welsh regions were expelled on May 31st. Following a long meeting at Heathrow yesterday, the Welsh, Irish and Scottish unions have comfirmed that the league will go ahead with the 4 Welsh regions for the 05/06 season.

Have you heard the one about the Welshman, Irishman and the Scotsman? Not even Paddy and Murphy could've made this kinds of mess, our Celtic Unions squabbling over bragging rights and betrayal.

But the row over the proposed Anglo-Welsh-Rainbow-Italian cup thing has been resolved and just in time with season ticket sales already being delayed. The league will work exactly the same as last season without the Celtic Cup at the end of the year. As for the Anglo-Welsh, that will go ahead, with Celtic League matches being played mid-week to make room for the extra games.

As for the rainbow cup, it looks like sense has prevailed and it will not go ahead.

So the Blues now have a chance to make a menze for the last 3 dreadful years by mouting a realistic title challenge and qualifying from their well chosen European group. Everything seems to be falling in place for Cardiff Blues, the potential is there to go out and be fulfilled, let's hope this is the beginning of a new era for the region, one of success.
