Dai Young is back scouting in South Africa this week. The last time Dai was there, he secured the services of Xavier Rush. Young is hunting another big name to join the Blues squad following Rush, Australian Marc Sterchbina, Mike Phillips and coach Robert Howley.

The Blues need to strengthen the squad and 1 or 2 big players are needed to really compete with Perpignan and Leeds to qualify in first place in Europe.

However, Dai has already failed to land Reuben Thorne, Serali Bobo and Breyton Paulse despite flying to South Africa for meetings.

The boost of having one major coup already, may entice more players to the region.

More good news came from Xavier himself when he spoke about his move last month,

‘They [Cardiff] were the most professional club I dealt with. They’ve been fantastic. I had a couple of offers from French clubs, but they were a nightmare to deal with. Cardiff were great all the way.’

And with the Blues taking a proffesional approach to their transfers, we are more likely to land the proffesional players we want.

Though there have been no names thrown into the mix yet, fans are already begining to speculate with names such as Agree Matfield, Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger and Brian Habana all mentioned, however it is liekly to be someone of  an older age and a winger/fullback.
