Martyn Contract Boost

Former Blues and Wales captain Martyn Williams has put pen to paper on a new 2-year deal that will see the 30 year old at the Arms Park until at least June 2008.

The flanker, who toured with this years British Lions told the Wales on Sunday,

 

‘I am loving it at the moment, I feel fresher that I have ever done.’

 

His signing comes at a good time for Cardiff. It follows their sudden crash landing back to earth after the recent dizzy heights of winning rugby.

 

Williams is a cert for Mike Ruddock’s 6 Nations squad announced on Tuesday. He was BBC’s 6 Nations man of the tournament last year and his continued commitment to Cardiff is a massive boost for the region.

 

And for the future?

 

‘I think I can go on another 2 years after that so I will probably call it a day at 34. Hopefully I will still be at the Blues.’
