Cardiff Blues fan favourite, Robin Sowden-Taylor, is facing a seriously long lay off after breaking his ankle.

The Cardiff-born flanker is held high in reguard by fans, and is rated by many as the next Martyn Williams, but team mates and viewers were left sickened by the horrific nature of his injury.

Having just lost the lea, 2 point behind and a matter of minutes to play, RST as ever gave it his all and put his body on the line in an attempt to collect Nick Robinson's restar. But as he was clattered by two Ospreys, he laned awkwardly on his ankle, which then snapped uner the immense weight of the two players.

He writhed in pain beating the ground as the mele of players around him cleared, and the reason becoming obvious when his right leg in the air, showed a foot facing the wrong way.

His ankle dislcated and snapped in perhaps the most extreme way possible as the gory pictures below show.

He now faces a lay-off of around 4-6 months as he aids to mend hs leg, before even beginning to return to match fitness.

We all wish Robin the very best of luck in his treatment, and can only hope for a speedy recovery back to the game.
