Despite most of us wrapping up warm for winter, but Dai Young is already getting summer Blues…

The Blues boss has been on a scouting missing, and is armed with cash to spend, so lock up your players, Young is on the prowl.

 

So far, Young has made two clear statements, with links to former Wales and Lions captain, Gareth Thomas and New Zealand lock, Paul Tito.

 

Firstly to look at the Kiwi. Tito is playing his rugby with Taranaki, The Highlanders and the NZ Maori but is out of contract in the summer and Young has publicly stated he wants to sign the 28-yer old.

 

"Paul is one player we are talking to and looking at. We are going to lose a lot of players to the World Cup and we have to make sure we strengthen our squad with quality, not just numbers."

 

Meanwhile, the transfer of Thomas back to Wales has been well documented by the player himself, and a failed attempt to sign him in the summer would imply he’s set for a return to the Arms Park. Alfie recently told the BBC;

 

“It's been an amazing journey and an experience, but I'm Welsh and Wales is my home. I've learned all I need and I'm ready to come back next year."

 

Now 32, Thomas looks set to arrive after the World Cup and will provide invaluable experience and rotation. There is also a possibility that the Centre/fullback/winger could arrive following Tolouse’s exit from the European Cup.
