Well, from a personal point of view, I can’t wait! I’ve booked my flights, hotel and yesterday got my tickets from the club shop, I’m all sorted for what will be a historic day in the Cardiff Blues short history.
For those of us whose stuck with the Blues through the troubled start to regional rugby, this trip offers us the kind of compensation I could hardly dream of just 3 years ago. Having been consistently one of the best sides in Wales and Europe, to barely qualifying for the Heineken Cup in the first season, being here with Dai Young still at the helm is a real achievement that needs to be recognised.
Congratulations must go out to Dai as well as the board for sticking with him. How many of us would have thrown him out after that Leeds defeat, if not before? But now this year he will be taking his Blues to battle in Europe's best 8 as well as hoping to final take the Magner's League crown that has long eluded us.
Who knows what could happen in France in April? But I for one want to be there to see it, and I'm not the only one. So far, the region has sold nearly all of their 2,000 allocated tickets, and have had to apply for more.
There's certainly a feel good factor around the region at the moment, and just chatting to the ticket guy yesterday made me realise it. He told me that there are a number of people buying tickets for the Toulouse trip, who have never owned a season ticket, or even booked a match ticket before! It goes to prove that success breeds success.
That got me thinking how massive a win in France would be, in terms of attracting players, fans and visitors to the region, and that (in a very nicely written round-about way) got me thinking how important it is that we get as many fans over there as possible. The more of us there are, the louder we'll be, and the bigger effect it will have on our boys. If you haven't already, I would beg all of you to looking into going. If you think you can't afford it, look at EasyJet flights from Gatwick and just double check, maybe compare the cost of watching us win at win at Toulouse on our way to winning the European Cup, compared to watching on TV.
Lets really get behind Dai and the boyos for what will be a great day, win, lose or draw.

Just hope the team turns up for 80 mins and puts in a good performance.
Hope they don't just turn up for 40 mins as they did against Leinster or not at all as they did against Gloucester in the last quarter-final we were in.

I've booked my flights, hotel and got the match tickets. It's going to be a good weekend - can't wait (whatever the result).

You see, I can't find any mention of anything to do with rugby.
That define a region in terms of Rugby. It is an "arbitrary" division for administrative and organisational purposes with in which rugby is organised in Wales.
In that the Cardiff blues have accepted a responsibility for the development of rugby in the area as designated.
However the tea is Cardiff Blues it is owned and run by a club and is a club that has existed for well over 100 years so "short existence" is nonsense!
We are a club which has accepted a role over a wider area called a region. Cardiff Rugby Club Ltd[i][/i] is still a club is still a club. the clue is in the name!
