New Shirt Released!

Blues Kit 11/12

By Andrew Collins
June 30 2011

Amid the chaos of Dai Young’s departure - which will be officially announced later today – the Cardiff Blues have revealed their new home and away shirts for the forthcoming 2011-12 season.

In seasons gone by, the news of a new shirt would have been hastily covered by Cardiff’s sports journalists, but this year, it has been somewhat overshadowed.

With English outfit Wasps set to reveal the Blues’ Director of Rugby Dai Young as their new boss, media outlets across South Wales will be frantically reporting on the reasons for his departure, the rumored settlement agreement for the Welshmen’s early release from his contract and of course the would-be suitors to replace Young.

With all this going on, many will miss the new kit launch – formerly a summer highlight – but not theArmsPark.co.uk!

Both the home jersey – the lighter blue and white – and the alternative shirt – dark blue – will go on sale exclusively at the Cardiff City Stadium Megastroe on Saturday 2nd July, where fans will have the chance to meet Andires Pretorius, Rhys Thomas and Fau Felise.

That looks like the closest to Cambridge Blue for a long time.
And is that BLACK piping? I can't tell properly, are they going to be playing in Blue n' Black again?

I have to say I dont really like these shirts. I bought last years shirt and I never really felt comfortable in it. I dont like these tight fitting polyester rugby shirts. I think from now on I'll just buy the leisurewear.

They look better when seeing the full length pictures with the full kit - btu I prefer the mainly 'light' blue one to the Auckland Blues old kit

How come the ladies get a cotton replica with a collar, this looks better IMO!

Canterbury have made a classic fit for Men in home and away but not pink (cotton), but its up to the shops if they think they will sell or not so prob wont order many if any. I imagine at some point they will be on sale somewhere

We seem to have 4 official jerseys this year! Light Blue, Dark blue, pink and ladies. Don't suppose that it has anything to do with money however, as that would lead this thread down a bad route...

don't think it is to do with money so this thread at least should be ok.....i hope

The Navy and white is or at least was suppose to be the Euro Cup shirt, might still be i don't know, when i first saw the shirts pink was down as away shirt, but is now being marketed as 3rd shirt so who know the thought behind it.
Also the ones shops would have been shown by Canterbury are slightly different to the ones now on sale, take a look on CCC website wierd.....

Another crop of shirts/jerseys from the Cardiff management stark raving bonkers don't give a @#$%& collection; we don't have a clue who we are, we don't know what we want to be, we don't know what we are on about and we don't care what the @#$%& anyone else thinks.

Do are marketing people attend/watch games involving Leicester, Northampton, Munster, Llanelli Scarlets, WALES FFS!!!, France, England, All Blacks, etc and notice what the colours are and what fans like to wear to show their allegiance?

Blue and Black is there and available. Take it with both hands and use it for christ's sake.

Good point, no other non international side, ever ever ever changes its shirts. We should be ashamed of ourselves for trying to freshers things up.

While I'd quite like to see a bit of black back in there Dim, not everybody would.

And bringing back black wont bring back those who have already been lost. At least they're back in light blue. I'm thinking last year's effort must have been a mix-up on the order form to Canterbury from the staff at CCS!!

let's all buy this jersey in the MASSES:

if only the blue was less blue, and the black more black, it would be a lovely blue and black shirt.
