In this section of the site, you can see profiles of the Cardiff Blues squad members. It includes, information and photos on the players and coaches at the Arms Park.

Martyn Williams joined the Blues from Ponty in 1999, and almost instantly became a fan favourite for his workman-like performances and general will to win.

He was appointed club captain in 2002, and later become the first ever Cardiff Blues captain in 2003 when regionalisation was announced. In 2005, he stepped down after featuring for the Lions in the summer.

Martyn was a key player in Wales' Grans Slam success in 2005, and was voted 'Player of the Tournement' by the BBC after 5 amazing games, including one spectacular performance in Paris, where he scored 2 tries which turned the scoreline around.

At 30, Martyn is one of the oldest members of the squad, but 'Nuggett', as he's know, has no intention of hanging up the boots until after the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

Despite†earned himself major acclaim with the Lions, many people feel he was not used enough by coach Sir Clive Woodward. Martyn has one test Lions cap, featuring in the 3rd test in 2005.
