One of the Blues targets, Barry Davies, has re-signed with current employer, the Llanelli Scarlets. It's not a major concern for Cardiff, but his team mate Matthew Watkins is a much hotter prospect, and higher on Dai Youngs wish list.

The full back turned down offers from the Blues and it's thought the Newport Gwent Dragons to stay at Strady despite being 2nd in line to the full back spot.

Davies lives in Cardiff and it was thought a move to the region was as good as finalised, but some good contractual negotionations from Gareth Jenkins means he will spend at least the next 2 and 1/2 years in Scarlet colours.

What may worry some fans is that Jenkins said recently, he believed both players would re-sign and with Davies signing up, Matthew Watkins may also.

Also in talks with Cardiff are Steven Jones and Dragons centre, Hal Luscombe. The Grand Slam hero is thought to be unhappy with his sides progress, and is thought to want to leave the sinking ship so to speak. The Ospreys and Scarlets are of course also interested in the quick midfeilder, who can also play wing, but with spending power high at the Arms Park, it may not be long until the scrum cap wearing Welshman is wearing Blue.
