Once again, the Martyn Williams to Perpignan stories have emerged, and now Mogsy to Gloucester is also a possibility...

Martyn's on-and-off move to Perpignan is still very much a possibility I can reveal. Despite local and national paper reports saying the move was definate, then definately off, it's believed that talks are still going on.

There are very few people who are actually 100% clear on his current situation, but it's thought he is currently more likely to stay with Cardiff than move to the French side. He recently said,

"I did consider the move and it's not something that I'd rule out in the future, but everything happened so late in the season that there wasn't enough time to arrange everything out there. I've got young kids, so I'd have to relocate the whole family and find schools and so on."

However, Perpignan have refused to give up on the 61 times capped flanker, and are working relentlessly on trying to lure the Ponty boy to the 'Bullring' stadium.

But now another Ponty boy has been linked away from the Arms Park, fan favourite Craig Morgan. The 25 year old winger burst onto the scene as an 18 year old, scoring at least one try per match consecutively for a massive 17 fixtures! However, an injruy 2 years later ruinned his progress, and it's fair to say he has failed to recapture the kind of form he showed a few years ago.

Having said that, Morgan has been a commited Cardiff player for 7 years, and has been a constant supply of tries every season. His tally isn't really good enough for a player of his calibre, but his overall contribution cannot be faulted.

Mogsy was in talks over a new contract, as Dai Young wanted to keep him as part of his squad, but it appears as though Craig wanted more than what the Blues were willing to offer, whereas English outfit Gloucester were willing to meet his demands.

It's not a done deal yet, and Morgans prefered choice would be to stay in Wales, but if Dai and Peter aren't willing to find the extras, the winger may join the growing list of casualties from the 05/06 squad.

The latest on that situation, is that both players are believed to have signed with the Blues last week. It's thought Filise, the Bath RFC prop signed last Tuesday, while Kiwi, Ben Blair, put down the old John Handcock on Thursday. Announcements should be made sometime next week, as the Blues look to use any promotion before the Millenium Stadium showdown against leinster a week Sunday.
