Jonah Lomu has issued a thank you statement towards fans, players, coaches and the people of Cardiff.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve have been here 6 and a half months, the time has flown by.  My time here in Wales has been brilliant.  I’ve loved the passion and interest for the game, and the Blues fans have been hugely supportive of me.

The Blues have been fantastic, they’ve indulged me really and when we first spoke they knew what I was trying to do and wanted to help.  It’s been a hard slog over the past six months but I wouldn’t do anything differently and have really enjoyed my time here.

I’ll really miss Cardiff and the friends that I’ve made and want to say a huge thank you to the Blues, the guys on the team, the coaching and training staff, the team in the office and behind the scenes and of course the fans.  You’ve all been great and I sincerely thank you for being a very important part in my return to rugby, the game that I love.

It would be great to see you all at the Millennium Stadium for our final home match against Leinster on Sunday.

Lomu is set to leave in June, following a 7 month stay in the heart of Wales. His service to the region has been fantastic, with on-pitch performnces aswell as charity work, and the his gracefullness with fans.

It has been such an honour to help him on his way back to a rugby career, and hopefully the Rugby World Cup 2007 with his beloved New Zealand.

Fans across the world have wished for Jonah Lomu to play for their side, always in vain with no realistic hope, but Cardiff fans can say differently. Rugby's first global superstar joined their side and made 10 appearances in their shirt. The day he signed is one that will never be forgotten by fans, and the roar that the Arms Park gave off when he went over for that try will not be heard again for many a year.

Thank you Jonah for comming, and we all wish you the best luck in the world with the World Cup. Cheers big man.
