The Cardiff Blues have confirmed the release of 2 further players, with more set to follow.

Ryan Powell, Lee Thomas, Ben Evans, Dean Dewdney, Jonah Lomu, Craig Quinnell, Craig Morgan and Maama Molitika have all left for pastures new, but now joining them out of the revolving door is Martin Jones, who joins Swansea RFC.

The 27 year old prop was used mainly as cover in the last two years since his move from the Warriors, and with the arrivals of Gary Powell and Samoan prop Filise, his services are no longer required.

Also out is Gareth Williams, who since has moved down the pecking order with the rise of Rhys Thomas. He suffered a major injury in January and missed the remainder of the season. that allowed another promosong hooker, Duane Goodefield, to move above the former Wales international, and with Ross Jonson also capable cover, Williams is deemed unneeded by the region.

Tristan Davies is expected to leave the region, but he is yet to find a new side, following the Dragons intrest fading. However, Nick Macleod looks set to stay, Dai Young recently announcing he was still in his plans, though it's not thought he's signed a new contract as yet.

Finally, claims the Blues were chasing Lion's number 8 Michael Owen has been rubbished by Young who has said there are no new arrivls set or the Arms Park, with any other new players coming through the ranks throughout the season.
