Rich W returned from an Aegean extravaganza and demanded to be updated on goings on during his absence. So we decided to introduce a new weekly feature, the weekly synopsis for those people who have been away. There will be a rota. It might be your turn next so pay attention in future. Last weekend saw the posters digest the 16-16 draw at Neath in the Heineken Cup. Most posters felt the drawing penalty for Neath was a travesty but we philosophically accepted it as a point gained towards possible qualification and not one dropped. Tierney and Oz were generally agreed to have played well. A draw seemes enough to keep AT in his armchair.

The draw scuppered progress in the predictions league.

A coach load of Tigers supporters had gone on from Neath to Llanelli to watch their game with Glasgow. This gesture was warmly received in sospan land.

On Monday night Tigers Extras had a 48-27 win over Cambridge University. Josh captained and scored twice. Alistair Newmarch returned to his old stamping ground as a centre for the University side.

Unconvincing rumours of a move for Josh to LI surfaced but fizzled out. These were never as strong as the previous weeks rumours of his move to Wasps or Falcons.

Ajack was announced as the winner of the Bath caption competition but accepted his victory in typical curmudgeonly fashion.

Razcal promised to issue some prizes from previous competitions this weekend at the Calvisano game. So far he has got DenIse’s sorted but juniorette is working on frames for the others.

Stimmo was voted player of the month.

Lynagh resigned from the IRB and plans to return to Australia. He will be much missed by this site for his pithy and reverential comments about our club, its captain and all associated with it.

Paul Sculthorpe was linked with a move to Tigers coincidentally just before announcing a new extension to his RL contract with St. Helens. Oh well. A Saint could never be a tiger.

The England squad for the Autumn internationals was announced. 8 Tigers, Jonno, Wiggy, Dorian, BK, Madeye, Backy, Oz and Stimmo. ( No Corry, still paying for Ireland last year). Only 3 Glaws players in the same squad. It’s a hard enough life! In addition to a squad of 33 Woodentop announced an additional 13 academy squad. Why 13? Is he trying to give back to RL what he has taken away because HP is in it? This academy squad is for the nearly men to keep them cheerful.

The game this weekend is Calvisano at home . This has not provoked much excitement on the board except for the fact that this game sees the return of Geordan Murphy either starting or more likely on the bench. This should see the light at the end of the injury crisis tunnel beaming ever more brightly.
