Many of you will no doubt be making the journey down to Reading this weekend to watch Tigers take on London Irish. Please remember to bring some extra cash for a good cause.

JC T-Shirts and Joke Books on sale at London Irish

Last May New Zealand born Jarrod Cunningham (JC), was diagnosed as having Motor Neurone Disease. JC was an extraordinary rugby talent. Amongst other achievements he was the top points scorer in the ZP in the 1999/2000 season. His on field skills aside, off field he is a thoroughly decent and approachable man. To LI supporters the news came as quite a shock.

The supporters' fundraising efforts soon kicked in. Various initiatives have so far handed over in excess of £10,000 to Jarrod Cunningham's S.A.L.S. Foundation. Two of these are ongoing, to which end, when you visit us on Sunday, we will be doing our best to extract some of your hard earned funds from you.

One of the LI sites regular posters, Chris Tampsett (Reading Fatboy), launched  the JC T-shirt. This project soon became known as 'Fatboy Aid'. These are high quality t-shirts bearing testament to JC's 'legend' status amongst London Irish supporters. They sell for £6 each, half of which goes directly to the JC fund.


Two of our other stalwarts, Robin Clive and Bill Newton (OxonRob and Bisach) compiled the jokes which had been posted on the supporters site into the 44 page JC Joke Book. This is, in effect, the most up-market Rag Mag you have ever seen, and it will make an ideal Christmas stocking filler, at £3 each. Since all the expenses of the first two editions have now been met, 100% of the money you put in will go to Jarrod's fund.

This Sunday the books and t-shirts will be on sale in front of the Megastore (Weather permitting) or under both the East and West stands at the bookmakers kiosks, if it is wet. Both are good value and for a good cause. Make sure you seek them out.
