Well it was off to Franklins Gardens in all its lovely splendour for a bit off rest and recreation. No tigers league points/cup progress to worry about. Shame about the weather blowing in direct from the Urals.
For 2 scratch sides England A and France A put on a reasonable show even though it was penguin weather
Despite all the recent weather the ground and pitch were immaculate
England overall had the edge in the line outs. I like the French centre's way of keeping his hands warm
A worry for the numerous tigers in the crowd was seeing Ollie down for several minutes in the first half. He continued but was replaced in the second half.
France A had the edge in the scrums but the driving maul was used to good effect by both teams
Going into the last quarter England A trailed by a point but mainly had themselves to blame for wasted opportunities. Then a fine flowing move was finished off under the posts by Worsley.
final score England A 30 France A 13
