Clive Woodward was obviously impressed with what he saw on Friday when he watched Sale beat Leicester, because he has added two Sale players to the England training squad. Andy Titterell and Chris Jones will join the camp at the Pennyhill Park Hotel next week.
Chris Jones and Andy Titterell were both singled out for praise after the match by supporters on our messageboard, and Chris Jones was officially awarded Man of the Match. Jim Mallinder was also pleased about the call-ups:
"Both players fully deserve to be involved. Chris and Andy are products of our successful youth system and I'm sure they will benefit from taking part in the squad sessions."
The Sale players already in the training squad are Pete Anglesea, Alex Sanderson, Charlie Hodgson and Jason Robinson.
